Potoški hrib 734 m asl

Potoški hrib
Its steep slopes towards S and NE let you know it's a tough nut to crack. The ridge running from the west is friendlier and dotted with interesting rocky outcrops. This approach isn't difficult, but leads across private land, yards (guard dogs) with signs warning you - seems unfriendly to me.
We descended from Počivalnik along the forest road to the asphalt one (didn't go up to Lobnikar). When we got to the road, we spotted a logging trail up the hill. We followed it till it ended. Then we started the steep climb to our intended summit. We hit the top on the first try. We climbed up to the rocky clump of interesting outcrops. Initially planned to descend the eastern ridge, but it was so steep right away we ditched that. Then we found descent along forest trails and some off-trail on the next ridge I already knew. So we dropped into the so-called Škarje and to the asphalt.
I think it's one of the least visited peaks around here.

Short and to the point, bravo!!!!!velik nasmehvelik nasmeh
In my youth, meadows reached the ridge,
from Počivalnik that main rocky formation was visible like some artificial structure and we said that it was
some bunker!! 100m from Potočnik there was
a hay drying rack high above the road under the summit, sadly abandoned
for a couple of decades, they mowed with the help of home-made
crampons or ice axes!!
Old Potočnik was a legend with a Tomos motorbike,
when there weren't many cars yet!!nasmeh
Recently I was up there, sadly it's too overgrown

Interesting history. My first acquaintance with the summit was last year (https://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=25&id=2408), even then I boasted how I've now almost walked all in this range. Yeah, young and stupid, they sayvelik nasmeh
That's roughly how it went.1

#andi, the map (specialka) on your pic interests me.
It looks like a suitable scale that would help me in getting to know these hills.
I'm happy that with these posts we animated #cico_ta, who obviously knows this terrain very well and would be a pleasant conversationalist also in searching for traces of the anchorage of the skin bridge from Gradišče to Burkeljčev hrib, which can still be found, and more.
Cheers all.

Jany, I think that's an urban legend, in my
youth they talked about a tunnel from Prebold to the castle
on Burkeljčev hrib, I was in those barely visible ruins' tunnels
many times and saw only
bayonet stuck in a rock crack, the elders teased us that it's the sword handle, we believed

In Burkelčev hrib there really are apparently caves that are hard to find and full of treasures, I read on the site "Castles and Manors". They mention the tunnel to Prebold too.
But I found an interesting note that the Žovneški counts had a bridge from Burkelčev hrib (once Kanclerjev hrib) to Gradišče. Made of hides laid on chains and supposedly chain impressions still visible on Gradišče (Pušnikov hrib) around the hill.
So, #cico, imagination working overtime!!! nasmeh

#Jany - that's just the map on hribi.net, the variant you open under individual trip. Used various other online ones, interesting that this one's relatively good for drawn ridges and relations to valleys. On the other hand it's quite outdated for marked trailsnasmeh Thinking of going to some surveying office sometime and getting a special map of this area to draw in known and hiked stuff for my hobby. lp

Fanta advertised, so I took Škarje and paths into my own feet and went to check some white spots in my knowledge of these areas. Heard cuckoo twice - spring hides well that there's quite a serious drought in our parts.
Nice hunting hut (locked) in the clearing below Žvajgo1
Bedroom without house number2
A few meters with good holds, then difficult steps3
Nicely arranged clearing and collapsed cabin below Reška planina4
A strange circle it was...5

That was a really weird loop, judging by the blue, green, purple, orange dots?
Not quite clear to me how you made it?
Assuming you descended from Žvajga down the clearing to Škarje. Crossed the gully or back to bridge to asphalt. Then towards Dušak and up the ridge to the asphalt leading to Laznik. Then forest under Strnik. Then I'm lost...?

I fixed it, hope it's more understandable now. I.e.: Škarje - Žvajga - Potoški vrh - Mrzličar - Škarje. From Mrzličar back on purple and then on green down to the starting point. lp

Hahanasmeh for hills I'm realizing that you visit them and never know them fully. They are too extensive, no matter how hard you try. Past the houses I went last year - when you descend to the road (best from the ridge to the logging trail that goes under Potoški on the west slopes) you go along the road then across/past the yards of two farms. People are friendly. No dogs despite the signs. Still - probably because of these close passages the peak isn't visited much, as you already wrote above.
