Wonderful trip through forests and pastures above Solbica, named after the pasture (plateau) and hut Pusti Gost. In Solbica we climb to the "manger", where locals stage a live Nativity at Christmas time, before that they release a comet star from Pusti Gost (really worth seeing, truly wonderful). Steep path leads along Lommig stream, lower through beech, higher through pine forest, and brings us to beautiful chapel on meadow near Osrizza hut. Continue to the hut, then sign directs left, path then leads clockwise past Bila Pec hut to Strilla hut, from where not far to Pusti Gost. There sign directs to forest, lower past Tuurse hut, to valley in Ladini, from where not far to Solbica. Beautiful trip, wonderful views, with some luck on pastures a local or some of them and pleasant chat with them, even shot of schnapps. Today I skipped Bila Pec and Strilla because I've been there, and will come back soon. nasmeh

Yesterday with PD Rašica to a somewhat distant goal in Italy to Resia. We conquered prominent plateau Pusti Gost-1,245m. That's the bivouac height. Height seems low, but starts at village Solbica height -596 m, so quite some elevation-900 m it was. Yes, guide Tomaž pointed out unusual thing at Christmas, when from nearby hill via cable they lower into settlement a light-Bethlehem star. Middle of settlement small parking-by containers. There left vehicles and right away our tour starts among weekend houses on nicely marked path that always shows where we're going. Soon pass nice waterfalls. Path is nice. In places nicely zigzagged. Path described as partially marked. Walk past long abandoned huts, also quite a few new weekend houses. Weather nice, sunny. Flowers almost none yet. Path dry. Somehow after nearly four hours reach main hike goal Pusti Gost plateau, where huge hut-bivouac-open with all equipment-mattresses, stove-beautifully arranged surprises us. Down by other path-less demanding and arrive to Solbica village from other side. Would return here-definitely.
Of course, no morning coffee is out of the question.1
Start - village Stolbica - 596m.2
Direction - Pusti Gost3
Start of the path - a dog came with us too.4
5
Along the path, the waterfalls of the Lommig stream were roaring.6
7
Some went down to the pool.8
9
Over the little bridge.10
First break.11
Views of the snow-covered peaks opened up to us.12
And we came across the first huts.13
There were several pastures in this area. Some have huts, most pastures are remembered only by ruins.14
15
16
17
Another pasture too.18
Signposts are along the entire path.19
The peaks are snow-covered.20
Another pasture again.21
Scenic undulating path.22
23
We had already been walking for more than two hours by then.24
Path marker.25
We are already on the other path.26
I don't know what that is.27
It pointed to that cliff.28
We are already at the top above the bivouac.29
Beautiful bivouac.30
31
32
33
Inside the bivouac - sheets stretched.34
35
You can even light a fire.36
Well-deserved snack.37
On the nearby hill above the bivouac the fire brigade photo of our modest quartet was taken.38
A little trudging through the snow.39
Views of the snow-covered peaks are phenomenal.40
I don't know the names of the peaks.41
42
Down we go by another path - it is easier.43
Past abandoned alpine pastures.44
We arrived in the village from the other side.45
At Zelenci we stopped for the obligatory conclusion and analysis of the trip-excellent. I highly recommend Oštarijo!46

By the way, Pusti Gost is not a peak, it's beautiful plateau . . .

Pusti Gost path doesn't lead to hut, closest to hut is at Strilla hut, from there up still quite some walk. You started and finished in Solbica, not Stolbica zavijanje z očmi
