Today we climbed from Vrhnika near Lož to the little-visited Racna gora. The path is mostly dry, some snow only a little below the summit.
We descended to the other side towards the Urška hunting hut (that path was completely under snow).

I'd go to this hill sometime for a change - at this time when the high ones aren't always accessible. If possible, add a description to the trip.

The trip is suitable for these days when there's high avalanche risk in the high mountains. I'll add the description tomorrow.

this morning I visited Racna gora accompanied by two local guides and off-path experts. A little snow fell, on the top it was blowing pretty impudently.

On Sunday we visited Racna gora again in real winter weather (-12). The weather was wonderful, though cold. Snow in the valley (Loška dolina) a couple of cm, on the top around 30 cm. Enviable view.

if I'm not mistaken that's our grandfather

Due to lush vegetation (very tall grass) and morning dew, I recommend waterproof footwear and long pants. Otherwise, one needs to watch the markers; it is well marked. I recommend descent to Dolenje Poljane and then to the starting point (or also to Gornje Poljane and descent on the loop path - longer).
