Today, in nice sunny weather, from Slivniškega Pohorja I climbed to the mentioned two peaks. During the ascent to the peak, I also checked out the Framski slap (Skalca waterfall).

The path to the waterfall and Mariborska koča is dry, further towards Razglednik there are already some snow patches. From Ruška koča on Areh to Žigartov there is a compacted snow cover up to 30 cm thick. LP Tadej

Maybe someone knows if a marked path from Ruše or elsewhere from the valley to Žigartov vrh exists? On the internet I found that there is one, specifically past apenince or Smolnik and past Šumik, and where it is best to leave the car.

You can drive to Areh and park there and to Žigartov vrh it's about half an hour... on Pohorje paths are poorly marked (from own experience - only signs for hotels and inns) so it's good to stick to roads and have a map... I avoid Pohorje and prefer elsewhere where it's better arranged smile

Does anyone else have any info? I want to leave the car in the valley, last year at Pohorje lift but just for the afternoon doesn't work.

The path description from Smolnik to Šumik is also on this portal. It says where to park. How to get further to Areh, I don't know. In the worst case, probably by road.

Along the Lobnica valley past Šumik waterfall further on the marked path to Bajgot (parking above Šumik), there is a crossroads of mountain paths, easy to Areh and en route "pop" to Žigartov vrh, can go to Klopnem vrh, Črno jezero, Osankarica etc... ALL IS WELL MARKED AND SIGNED WITH SIGNPOSTS, so I don't know why avoid Pohorje. Just stick to marked paths and look around a bit not just at the ground for mushrooms.

Was there today and can confirm: marked to Šumik from Smolnik, then also from Šumik to the parking (a bit harder path), from there to Areh (2h), also nicely marked.

Today I was at Žigartov vrh. Looking and looking for the concrete tower, but nowhere jezen

. From a random cyclist I learn that they demolished the tower due to poor condition a few months ago. It's gone.
At this spot now just a pile of rods without marking. It is along the marked path (think it's ruška pot).

Yesterday, a bit around Mariborski razglednik, the highest peak of MOM. Quite a few hikers, but mostly at multiple safety distances. mežikanje

Above 1000 m, still some snow patches.

Once the station of the first chairlift in Pohorje.

Once there was the Gradis hut here, today a failed investment.

Church of St. Bolfenka, once also the first mountain hut in Pohorje.

The walked path is normally passable.

At least we repeated Žigartov vrh as Tadej also visited it. Three braver ones went yesterday on reconnaissance to Pohorje to find Žigartov vrh - the highest point of eastern Pohorje. On Monday, retirees will conquer it - retirees' group Pondeljkovci - PD Škofja Loka. Crossing crowded Ljubljana at seven in the morning is a real feat, so we bypassed Ljubljana a bit. Well, we only managed to reach Pohorje, though we missed one exit. The plan was to reach Ruška koča on Areh, which we succeeded in doing. Here I also ordered a hot snack for the Pondeljkovci. Then we went to find Žigartov vrh and found it. The path is short - the peak offers no view. The program actually had the tour Koča na Šumiku - Žigartov vrh. From Žigartov vrh, we went along the marked path to the junction, where you turn right to the waterfalls, then continue along the road to koča na Šumiku. The path to that junction took a full two hours - simply too far for my pensioners. The descent to that junction is quite steep - currently dangerous for slipping. We didn't go to the hut - to both waterfalls it takes another hour and a half - the signs with times are a bit confused. We returned to Ruška koča along the macadam road, which shortens the return path by half an hour. At Ruška koča, the earned beer and excellent mushroom soup were just right - highly recommend, and it costs only six euros. We had a wonderful sunny day. We also met some hikers - even two small groups. Mainly now on Pohorje there are many foreigners - mainly whole families with children. I decided that the entire planned tour is too long for this group. It will be just Žigartov vrh.
