The parking lot before hut Kuhinja was today like a car show. Or as if they were organizing something like Open Doors Day on Krn today velik nasmeh

. Probably like everywhere on popular peaks. I expected it to be less crowded around Stador and Red Cliff and it really was. Past huts Kašina and Leskovec I climbed up in the nice cool morning to the path junction to Lužnica valley and Red Cliff and continued to the latter. The peak is nicely cushioned with a carpet of saxifrages, gentians and other alpine flowers. Views divine. No soul around. Peace. I sat a bit and feasted on the beautiful views, then descended and under the wall continued somehow nasmeh

towards Lužnica. Joined the marked trail. Lužnica lake was partially sunlit, highlighting its emerald color. Continued past the lake to the goal. Peak above Peski. Again nobody anywhere. Didn't go to saddle below Batognica and from there to Peak above Peski but went straight up the slope cursing the scree, sand and whatever was grinding under my feet. But reached the goal anyway. On top alone again, as the couple I spotted on top while ascending was already descending to Prehodci. Views superb again, peace and quiet, so it was quite hard to go back to the valley. Returned partly over Maslenik, then again on marked path to start. Beautiful hike that I love in all seasons or part of Krn circular tour.

Yesterday it seems it was quite crowded — we got up late, people were still coming.

Went like this today: Rdeči rob, Škofič, V. Stador, Maslenik, Vrh nad Peski, Batognica. Used ice axe only on descent from Vrh nad Peski on north side.
