Yesterday we Škofja Loka retirees -Pondeljkovci- were conquering the hillocks above Idrija. Above Idrija a winding and narrow road leads to the 1000m high Vojskarska Plateau. We had this big bus and there were quite some troubles when meeting passenger cars. Twice we even scraped the ground a bit at the bend. At the junction for Rejčev grič we continued on foot. To the foot of this hillock it went of course on asphalt. Then up the low hill on nice grass. Today the view from the scenic hill was excellent in all directions. KSA and Julians are visible. But Triglav really hid behind the clouds for us. On the right side of this little hill we descended into the forest and walked about 150 m of elevation gain to the inn Beli kamen. From the inn to the nearby hill Vrh Jame, which is also the final destination of the ski lift. Then to likof at this tourist farm - don't know - supposed to have even two stars. In the barn they even have a museum of old tools for forestry and farm chores. They served us homemade stew (mixed sweet cabbage and potatoes - seasoned with cracklings - don't know what the dish is called), along with a big piece of freshly baked crackling bread - finger licking good. It's worth coming to these somewhat remote beautiful Slovenian areas.
