After a long time, this time we head to the Carnic Alps. The goal was the Marinelli hut (2111m). The start of the tour we did was in the town Sutrio. First we had a 7.5 km ascent to Valcalda pass followed by an equally long descent past Ravascletto to Comeglians. Here we turned right towards Forni Avoltri, Sappada. From there all the way to the mentioned hut almost 25 km ascent. In the first part past Rigolato to Forni Avoltri gentle easy ascent. In Forni Avoltri in the middle of the town we turn right to Collina exceptionally beautiful, clean and tidy mountain village. Followed by less than 2 km to Tolazzi hut where asphalt ends. Further the road is closed to traffic. Here also starting point for Volaia lake, Coglians... Followed by 8 km quite demanding climb past Moraret pasture to Marinelli hut. Gravel road in very good condition; first part through forest, second through steep grassy slope. Hut built on Moraret saddle and has excellent view. After longer stop descent follows on quite demanding kilometre singletracks to Collina valley. Further gravel path. We go past Plotta and Val di Collina pastures. Towards end we come to forest and then to main road for Monte Croce Carnico pass. From there towards valley past Timau village and Paluzza town to Sutrio.
