Rinka Waterfall

Like every winter, we also headed into Logar Valley this Sunday to see what this year's frost has done to the numerous waterfalls. Frost and light snowfall accompanied us from Hotel Plesnik to our goal, Rinka Waterfall. Snow increases with elevation, so it was around 25cm at the start, at the Rinka Waterfall area already around 40cm. Why prolong it, let the photos speak for themselves!nasmeh

Best regards and safe stepsnasmeh

In Ljubljana it got hot, so yesterday I headed for pleasant cooling under the Rinka waterfall and excellent coffee at Eagle's Nest. On the return I stopped at the mountaineers' hut and the monument to F. Kocbek and J. Frischauf and checked out the Palenk waterfall too. Super day mid-week to recharge your batteries and more easily await the weekend nasmeh.

Yesterday on an easy trip to Logar Valley. First we went to Rinka waterfall. The little one was thrilled as he's never been to the mountains or seen them up close, except what he sees in my videos and stories. After coffee at Eagle's Nest, my nephew and I went to the top of the waterfall, grandpa and grandma waited below. I didn't push him higher as he's not used to mountain hiking but after a few minutes it went pretty well. He was listening to me how and what, otherwise he's a handful, what can you do, hyperactivity. He was thrilled with the view from above into the valley and surrounding mountains. We could have gone to Okrešlj but it would take time. We descended. We also viewed the waterfall from another perspective near the parking lot, butterfly observatory near the Planinci hut, "special" cattle at the farm at the start of the valley, the famous linden tree by the road and headed further to Robanov kot. Weather was still okay but deterioration was noticeable as peaks were clouding over. We went only to Robanov meadow to see the ponies, mountains above the valley. On return we stopped at Igla then home. It was very nicenasmeh

On Thursday 9.12 after snowfall from Planinci Hut on skis to Rinka Waterfall. To Logarska planina road is slippery and trodden (closed to traffic) further I was breaking trail. New snow (about 30cm) is dry, skis sink quite a bit (since snow didn't fall on hard base). Now with the trail it's much easier. At end of road total about 80-90 cm snow. Ice on waterfall is (still) very little. Met two with snowshoes. Descent also slow on skis along the track as it's gentle slope and lots of snow.
