Rjavca 1789 m

I start on the Austrian side of Ljubelj and climb up the gravel road past a small hunting hut to its end. From the end of the road I ascend via easy pathless terrain to the summit of Sveta peč / Heilige Wand and from there descend to the marked path leading from Poden to Rjavca. The path then bypasses Bela peč / Weiße Wand and steeply ascends to the summit of Rjavca.
The summit rewards me with a nice view of the northern faces of the Karavanke (nearest are Palec, Zelenjak and Vrtača), and after a short break I head to the valley.

Yesterday I went to check the snow conditions in this area. The trail from the Sereinig inn to Bela peč is OK, then lots of snow. The trail to the top was difficult, sinking quite a bit. At the top rewarded with phenomenal views.

Today Romana and I walked the same trail as (švedrc), trail well marked, nice views of Karavanke from the top.

Since it was foggy in the afternoon above 1400 m, I decided to go to Rjavca. Never on this peak before. Parked at inn in Bodental and followed signs. Saw some boletus but didn't pick them, rules different there. Last part of ascent steep. At top sun and some wind. Autumn colors awakening or leaves already nicely colored. Descent same direction.

Yesterday first time on beautiful peak Rjavca on north side of Karavanke border ridge.

Our hike was a combination of pathless and marked trail. Started at parking on Austrian side of Ljubelj tunnel, continued along road past Pamž farm, up steep path through tall ferns to hunting hut at idyllic spot. Then went to see mighty spruce of unknown age - assume much older than me nasmeh

. Later to another very steep pathlet and onto marked trail from Bodental valley or our Žabnice nasmeh

. Returned later by this path too.

Ascended to fairly spacious summit among green larches that had accompanied us for a good part of the path already before. Summit marked with cross offers really wonderful view, nearest are rocky walls of Palec, Zelenjak and Vrtača. Apparently one can see from summit to Veliki Klek and Hochalmspitze too, but yesterday not visible. So definitely to this wonderful peak again!!
