Rjavčeva jama

Marked, secured path that was built and arranged in 1894. Record from the report of the Savinja branch of Slovene Alpine Association. In various records it appears: Erjavčeva cave/Rjavčeva cave.
Logically Rjavčeva seems right to me, if named after the vicar who served in Luče from 1660-1668 = Jakob Rjavec
I feel it's not overly visited. Path is exposed in some places but secured. Interesting passage through underground cave.
We did this for warm-up in the morning. Then a bit tougher nut above Igla awaited. Start right above road where ropes securing entry part are visible. Couple minutes ascent to nicely arranged crag. Nice followable path to it. Further need route-finding experience. Milan scouted terrain before and we had little work. Steepness is serious, not for everyone. Steep grass, scree, ledges and rocks. Ascending towards Skakalojca 1026m. Sometimes bit of scrambling needed, not hard. Rocky outcrops offer superb views.
A little before Skakalojca turn down ridge. Steep descent!!
Midway visit new crag, quite hidden and will remain so awhile. Many fully equipped routes, others in making. After approx. 6 hours descent on asphalt. Road widens before Igla with artificial embankment. After descent refresh in cold Savinja, wash ticks and beer. Finish at Četari where colleague treats to huge pizza - birthday!! Congrats and many more years in mountains!!cool

Milan really knows how to surprise. In one go tourist visit of Rjavčeva cave and tasting good homemade wine, hop across road and tackling steep slope to Skakalojca, which I heard of yesterday for first time. Under feet view of thin line of Savinja and road. To many more years and joint gatherings!

It was nice in such pleasant company after many years again to walk the path around Erjavčeva cave and then on the opposite bank of Savinja to discover the wonderful wild world above Igla. You must be a pevcan with chamois to manage those steep banks.velik nasmeh But it was worth every drop of sweat, not a few.nasmeh
Milan, many more safe steps in mountains!
Regards and safe step to all from under nice Golts, Janez

Today with better half nice walk from Igla to cave and back through ear at Igla. Trail to cave wet, strewn with leaves, but passable and esp. picturesque.
Good luck!
