With a bit of delay, I am posting the Saturday tour in the Karawanks. We start at the lower station of the gondola on Sv. Višarje and head towards Val Bartolo (Vrtinjlogarski graben). At the end of the valley, we ride over the same-named saddle onto path 403 and turn left, continuing towards alpine pasture Feistrizer. After a few steep kilometers, we arrive at the first alpine pasture Achomitzer (Zahomsko pl.) 1734m. From there, we continue first on path 508 and soon after to the right on the gravel path to the second alpine pasture Feistrizer (Bistriška pl.) 1718m. This is followed by a descent on the nice forest path 403-507 towards the third alpine pasture Dolinza (pl. Dolinica) 1460m. From there follows an extremely steep descent on asphalted road 14-479 to the intersection, where we turn left. We continue for some kilometer on asphalt and then turn right onto the gravel path, which at the start steeply ascends. The gradient then eases and after a good three kilometers we arrive at the fourth alpine pasture Dellacher (Dolska pl.) 1365m. This is followed by an initially steep seven-kilometer asphalted ascent towards the fifth alpine pasture Poludniger (pl. Poludnik) 1708m. There we took a longer break and excellent Kaiserschmarrn (emperor's pancake) and beer. Followed a descent of 4-5 km and then also the last 3-kilometer ascent to Forcello Fontana Fredda (Mrzli Studenec) 1693m. Then just a steep descent to the Ugovizza valley (Ukve) and return to the starting point of the tour under Sv. Višarje. The tour itself is extremely scenic with beautiful views and alpine pastures. The tour is also more demanding since it is constantly up and down and with quite a few elevation meters. More about my unpublished tours at the link
