I'd just warn about an issue. If I click on the link it doesn't open the GRS page but connects me to http://www.grzs.si./Stran.aspx
so if anyone else has the same problem, enter the address manually in the browser www.grzs.si

I fixed it. The error was an extra dot after the domain "si", which the GRZS page doesn't have.

The year before last, Janez, Peter and I attended the mentioned course at Ig. Despite the lack of snow, the course was conducted at a high level, with plenty of smart and useful info and tips. Whoever hasn't visited something similar, I warmly recommend. The guys were great. Regards, Andrej

I strongly recommend this course. You gain lots of new info and also get to practically test avalanche transceiver, digging out casualty, probing, walking with crampons and ice axe, preparation for winter tour and more...

And it's free too, only I'm worried where in Ig we'll have winter-mountain conditions, there's just a plain there.

The purpose of the practical part of the course is mainly to demonstrate individual techniques and equipment use, which participants try themselves. For such execution, terrains in the training center itself are suitable. Conducting practical part on Krim or Kurešček is time-consuming due to transport of participants (so far average 50 per course).

I myself attended the mentioned course a few years ago organized by GRS Ljubljana and can only give positive reviews. Whoever hasn't attended a similar course yet, I strongly recommend. The guys are top, you learn everything you want and as the geologist said, you even try practically. Take advantage! Regards Andrej
