The SE ridge of Dolkove Špice was an unfinished tour for some 50 years. The first attempt was under the leadership of Avgust Delavec from Mojstrana on an alpine course in Vrata, where I was with two other guys from Mojstrana roped up. So much time has passed that I forgot the names… Anyway, somewhere in the middle a huge storm hit us and we turned back.
Today I climbed it solo in peace and wonderful weather. Orientationally it is not demanding.. just don't seek difficulties and there are mostly cairns.. Descent from the summit to the west and also to Dovški Gamsovec, because it is so handy by hand and foot.. Across the screes under DŠ you are quickly at the junction to the bivouac. Very nice tour… Especially the views from Spodnja Dolkova Špica towards the summit are unique.smile
