Logaršče, Ponikve, Pečine - cycling
Šentviška plateau rises above Baška grapa, Idrijca valley and Cerkljansko. Highest peak of the plateau is Črvov vrh or hill, as they call it there. On the plateau there are plenty of foot and cycling paths, steep roads lead to it from Baška grapa, from Idrijca valley and of course also from Cerkljansko side.
Today's cycling trip I started at railway station Most na Soči and from Idrija at Bača climbed to the plateau. There I checked out Logaršče, Ponikve and Pečine. In Ponikve, where at Plečnik church above the village was my highpoint, the road swung down, through Pečine I rushed to Slap on Idrijca with such speed that I barely stopped before main road. Across Idrijca I turned to Kosmač educational trail, made a detour to his homestead, and then along Idrijca back to the car. Extremely pleasant cycling trip that calls for soon repetition with different start and other goals, of course also ascent to this or that peak

Logaršče, Ponikve, Zagomilca, Črvov vrh, Šentviška gora, Prapetno Brdo - cycling
Started again at Postaja, to plateau this time from behind, from Klavž in Baška grapa. One continuous climb, slope to Logaršče doesn't let up. From there to Ponikve and on through Zagomilca to Črvov vrh. In between visit Bukov Gaj and spring below Črvov vrh. Up top very satisfied, managed to pedal bike right to summit. Descended only where had to open/close fences on pastures. Weather windy all day, midday quite cloudy, all time quite cold. Descent through Šentviška Gora and Prapetno Brdo to Slap ob Idrijci, from there to Postaja on already ridden side road - cycle path. Excellent cycling tour, admittedly strenuous but picturesque and full of experiences. If snow doesn't surprise me return to plateau before winter, have quite some worthwhile behind there. Visit to plateau warmly recommend, maybe nicest by bike

Hm, wouldn't know  Opened well cover, plenty water, but didn't scoop it with bucket on pole. Didn't notice that log at all until you mentioned...

Interesting, if I see right Sl 26,27 is the so-called Đeram. Such way of lifting water I saw only in army on fields near Vukovar, but that was long ago

Also used long ago here. That log is "water pipe". Such logs (larch) they drilled, assembled and laid in ground and it was water supply. Next time there look, it's drilled through. Of course drilled with special bits, hand driven.

Interesting. The well kept me busy enough, so I didn't notice that "log" yet, let alone that it's "hollow"
