I'm deciding to buy shoes. I really like Alpina LADAKH CLASSIC - 62992. I'm also interested in some easy winter ascent where I'll probably need crampons. I'm curious what you recommend and whether it's advisable to strap them on these shoes, which basically I think aren't mountaineering and winter ones. Thanks.

Classic 12-point crampons will fit almost any boot; just before buying crampons it's good to try whether the boot fits well on those crampons. Alpina's Tibet boot is also a good shoe for this price. I had Tibet-12 classic crampons and did winter tours (Turkish gully-Rinka, Špik, Triglav several times, Stenar, Krn, Kukova š., even to Koča I managed)... the only thing that bothered me after the tour was the sole, like some kind of eyes (it already hurt pretty good towards the end of the tour); now that I have a real winter boot (Teton - massive shoe, heavy, solid boot for winter tours) I don't have those problems. Still, I would recommend to anyone to buy both a summer boot and a winter one, since in the end it's bought for several years. Basically, yeah, no panic with this summer boot and 12-point crampons. With that, when we buy footwear in Alpina we're basically giving bread to many workers.

I have a summer Salomon boot, good walking shoe, got classic 12-point crampons from dad. I thought, super let's go to the mountains, but a problem appeared. I have size 48 foot and there was no way to mount crampons on boots - too wide sole. Warning. Then I bought Salewa winter boots MS Raven Combi GTX (tried Alpina too but it doesn't fit my foot), and now I have winter ones for another 5 years, summer ones maybe one year less. Walking is completely different both in summer and in winter.

Traceour, with foot size 48, I would use the term no. little feet or no. little footies . You must have boats . But it's right that you warned about the problem, because adjustment by length is still no problem (probably not much is missing), but by width the problem appears. With such foot sizes, only brands with narrower shoe models save you.

48?? Well, with snowshoes you save, because you don't need them.

Well, as if that's something special. Not saying 50 or more, that's rare. But 48 is just a bit bigger person. There, average 195 cm tall person surely has shoe size around there. And that's really not some extreme height.

Do you get shoe polish for such a large size?

It's a big problem to get beri - shoes over size 50, exactly 51 or 52. I'm also inquiring where one could find a touring boot of such a size for a buddy . Often if he gets any in the store, they give him a discount on them; most often they are not available or he has to order them exceptionally from the main factory . They really are boats and in middle school we accidentally stepped on his toes several times.
