Heinz, thanks for carefully looking at the photos and with additional description and sketch clearly showing the path's course. We followed your description from years ago and that was the only part where I got tangled. When it didn't go further I returned, meanwhile Sonja (in the pic) explored lower but was still too high. Nevertheless she then reached us without issues, who had found the right variant a bit lower. On this occasion thanks for this description and many others, without them discovering paths would be harder, maybe you'd even rescued some from oblivion... Happy trails onwards

"All three brackets at the hardest spot are firmly anchored." Well, not anymore! Again the first two are loose, the third still holds. Orientation somehow works, the hook is really only that one at the end. Don't know how it would have ended if I had directly tackled the last part there, if I hadn't accidentally spotted the rope hanging on the right in the distance, climbed up it and got back to the ridge and thus to the end of the climbing section.

We hiked the path on 2.8. with a group of more experienced hikers from the PD Mengeš camp in Završnica. To Planina Seča from Trilobit hut without issues, need to step over two fallen trees. On the ridge a quite overgrown trail through dwarf pines awaited us, rocky parts are still crumbly. On Viševnik the rope hangs because the bolt is pulled out, pegs seemed OK to me. No problems with orientation. Due to dense fog that started after the ridge end, we didn't continue to Vajnež.

On Sunday I headed to Vajnež over the Belščica ridge via Skalaška path. Started in Javorniški rovt and climbed the well-followable marked path to Planina Seča. The trail through Medji dol is occasionally steep but eases up. At Medvedjak saddle between Struška and Belščica, on the northern edge of the alpine pasture, among the bushes find the start of the unmarked path, which is well trodden but occasionally hidden due to overgrown branches that have overgrown the sawn parts. But since the trail sticks to the ridge, orientation is not problematic. Breaking through the bushes is relatively good training for swimmers before the sea season After this form of recreation followed the harder part, with descents and ascents along the narrow, jagged and occasionally crumblier ridge, aided by some steel ropes and pegs. The cable at the pegs still has a pulled-out bolt but is reliable nonetheless. I did the more demanding ridge section in half an hour (100m elevation) and found myself among bushes again, but not for long, soon ridge-walking up and down the grassy and flowering continuation of the scenic Belščica ridge all the way to Vajnež. To the marked path towards Planina Seča, which is also part of Slovenian Mountain Trail (section Stol – Golica), I descended transversely and before descending to Ride cirque I visited Kamnitnik. Near it the path drops into bushes, a bit of the path had easily passable snow. On the semicircular path above the cirque I could view the ridge I hiked a few hours back from below. Heat was rising and I was glad for the descent from the pasture in shady forest. Weather was tolerable for the first part despite the heatwave, as pleasant wind caught me on the ascent to the ridge, along with cumulus clouds, easing the rising temperature. Nice path for trail followers and fans of breaststroke swimming style , scrambling, alpine flowers and ridge paths.

Marjan, I've been eyeing this Skalaška for a couple years too, but never the right time, especially since the dog probably can't come. Then I rather go somewhere with the dog What about the bushes, is it really tough? Can you follow the path?

Not that tough, but still nicely overgrown. The path itself is mostly well trodden, sticks to the top of the ridge and direction is clear - just need to find it if it strays For the pup the rocky part really not suitable, unless small enough to pack in backpack for that half hour

Check also heinz's instructions about the one orientation loop on the difficult part - on previous page from 14.6.2017, I saw them only after the hike
