I know that this doesn't quite fit into this forum, but anyway. Tomorrow the Škocjan Caves Park has open doors days and together with the surrounding villages they are organizing a big event, among other things also free entry into the Škocjan Caves themselves. It's worth checking out!

Andrej thanks for this information! Since we attended today the several-thousand-strong women's run in Tivoli (that really doesn't fit this forum) and consequently cancelled hill climbing this weekend, your tip for spicing up Sunday is more than welcome.

Hello; I need your help namely because I'm doing SPP also with the extended version, I'm interested where the stamp of Škocjan Caves is located. And whether it's always accessible or not. It's control point 74 in the SPP booklet. Has anyone been here in the last days? Thanks for info in advance. Uroš

I got it, although some time ago at the ticket office for the cave. They didn't have SPP stamp, but only their own.

I got SPP stamp in the souvenir shop - next to the ticket office - which is not always open.

SPP stamp (oval) of Škocjan Caves control point is located in the reception (ticket sales) in the Škocjan Caves info center. When info center is closed, the (triangular) stamp mounted on the box with logbook can be stamped at the entrance to the complex. Both in info center and in the box there is also logbook.
At Artviže control point the stamp (triangular) is mounted on the box with logbook attached to the electric pole at NOB monument. Oval Artviže stamp can be obtained in the house opposite the monument. There and in the box is also logbook. In both cases recommend your own stamping pad.

Yesterday we walked the path "Along the collapses of the Reka River". It's a traditional hike from Matavun via Naklo, Brežec, Gradišče and with the goal in Škocjan. Part of the path leads also through the underground of Mahorčičeva Cave, which is otherwise not open (only for organized hikes), but worth a visit. The path is easy, 12 km long and leads past the remains of Školj Castle, through karst villages with nice views to Nanos, Snežnik and the deep collapse of the Reka River.
Nearby is also the entrance point for viewing Škocjan Caves.

Yes, quite a lot of people were on the hike. We were this year for the first time, surely not the last.

In the house opposite the monument you don't get only the oval stamp, there you get all information since the info center for village Artviže is there. Just go there if you want any information.

The triangular stamp is located on the box with logbook opposite the monument.
