Sleeping in the mountains

In which hut or bivouac have you already slept and where did you like it the most? Did you sleep outdoors? So, what do you recommend the most.jezik

It's a bit hard to answer this question. It happens that a hut was a nice memory for me and when I came back after some years or more, I was so disappointed. And of course, the opposite happens too. Last year it was great in all ways at the Prehodavci hut (from food, cleanliness to friendliness), Erjavčeva hut at Vršič always thrills me again, as well as Sedmeri, Kriški podi, huts in Kamniške... It is also true that with a bit of patience and understanding for work in hard conditions, it's good everywhere. In the mountains we can't expect hotel services. It's important that the staff is friendly, that they know how to advise, then it's OK. More or less, all huts are OK. Every eye has its painter. You sleep well outdoors, you just need a sleeping bag and a bit of luck that the night weather doesn't worsen. In the mountains nights are pleasantly fresh, sometimes even cold. Wherever you overnight, have a nice time!

I have already had some nights in nature - sleeping bag (sleeping in huts I won't describe). It's nice - but you must be prepared for bugs, hard ground and whatever else doesn't suit someone. This I tell you - this year I bought a new sleeping bag (-5 and up to +), that's enough for me and I can't wait to use it!!nasmehnasmehAnd I will, even though I'm already old over... I don't recommend anything to you - find it yourself and combine depending on what suits you and where you are!!

Me too at least once a year sleep in nature, nothing better. Sometimes really a bit of crisis with hard terrain but always take armaflex, quite OK also some other mat. For overnight recommend area SLO AUT ITA triple border, they say darkest part of Slovenia (read somewhere) with very little light pollution. Tried myself, can't believe how many stars up there. And maybe one tip, if light small fire need to measure!

I mostly use alpine huts, but often slept in winter room too. In those you must be used to a mouse coming to you. Sleeping outdoors seems cleanest to me, pleasant experience, but it has downside too. Dew, cold, not to mention thunderstorm.

For me nicest sleep in bivouac under Špička. Mountain atmosphere, peace and friendly keeper and of course nice view. Recommendnasmeh

My best sleep was in Češka hut, which I think anyway stands in one of the nicer places in our mountains.

The most interesting sleep my friend and I treated ourselves to was on a flat and sun-warmed rock near Koča na Kriških podih - already in pitch darkness we realized it was the rock where they sprinkle salt, as a herd of sheep almost trampled useek. They were almost as sunburned as we were. Too bad I didn't have a digital camera yet to show the photo with my friend's scared face peeking out of the sleeping bag, and around her a herd of surprised lambs jezik

For me, sleeping on Ratitovec remains in memory. Really beautiful sunset, which was later replaced by countless stars.nasmeh

The best we slept with my wife in Kocbekov dom. The most interesting sleep was in the hut at Krnsko jezero, there we slept right on the floor. But it wasn't bad either. Lp

On Kredarica we slept right on the floor in the dining room and on benches,....in the morning at four we were the first to get fried eggs,...
otherwise I've also slept on shared bunks and in winter rooms,....
but in nature on the hills really never yet, but it's probably really nice to fall asleep under the open sky,.. nasmeh

And what is the price for sleeping on the floor and benches? Did they charge you for shared bunks or just the high-altitude fee?

On Kredarica they didn't charge us anything at all, it's true that it was a bit noisy in the dining room for a while, we actually wanted a room, but since everything was full we stayed in the dining room,...
that was a few years ago and the caretaker then said that nobody ever stays outside, so we stayed for free in the dining room, right next to the counter with a view into the kitchen,...
I think it's quite fair,,....
we used shared bunks at Hotel Zlatorog and together with self-service breakfast it wasn't much either,....

I think I'd rather sleep outside than in the dining room on the floor. Unless it was maybe raining...
Anyway, I remember a pleasant night when I slept at a shepherd's on Menina planina. In the morning I wasn't woken by car noise, but by the pleasant tinkling of cow bells. If you have such or similar opportunity, just take it.

My most extreme sleep was in the Salewa Bergen tent, which I tested during the June severe flood on the saddle between Vel. and Mal. Draški vrh! Then it was blowing so hard all night that despite good anchoring and stone barricade, I thought at some point despite prayer I'd end up in Lake Bohinj! The funniest sleep at Vodnikova koča - winter room when two Englishmen wandered around the beds in the middle of the night and then ended up outside on the ground - more comfortable than the blue matsmrk pogled Looks like I was lucky with the choice!jezik Best regards!

A slightly unusual tip. Since nights are cold for sleeping outdoors, I advise swapping day for night. In the warm afternoon sun you lie down on the ground and fall asleep, but when night falls, hit the trail. And don't forget the headlampzavijanje z očmijezik

This applies to very well-known terrain in the lowlands. In the mountains I wouldn't do that.
Pleasure is sleeping in nature, only if there are no mosquitoes. If you choose a more elevated spot for overnighting, where it's also a bit more airy, you can sleep without "puffy eyes" in the morning.
