I'm planning a partial traverse of Pohorje from Slovenj Gradec to Maribor, and I'm wondering where you recommend staying overnight. Better at Ribniška hut or hut at Pesek?

Ribniška is too close to the start for me (SG), because then you still have quite a big chunk to Maribor.
Hut at Pesek is OK but no longer alpine, prices a bit different (higher). Advise reserving at least a week before.
I'd sleep at Klopni vrh or Osankarica. Recommend taking a map!

Well, the main part of the route is planned for the second day, because the bus from mb to SG arrives only at 13.30. The map will be there anyway.
Price plays an important role, because just overnight  Now saw that at Grmškov dom, even only 9 euros for a mountaineer's sleep. Wow, very favorable prices.

Grmovškov dom is closed and you can't sleep there. Same problem at Klopni vrh. In any case, I recommend calling the hut before and asking when it's open and if overnighting is possible. My husband and I wanted to sleep in the hut under Kremžarjev vrh but it was closed, so we had to go to the valley. Otherwise, good luck on Pohorje!

I went about a good month ago on this route but in the opposite direction. We slept at the hut on Pesek. Very satisfied with the friendliness and the offer of food and drink  If you're going from Slovenj Gradec, I definitely recommend this hut, because then you still have "some" small distance to walk and the easier part of the route is ahead Enjoy as much as possible

I'm interested in which huts allow mountaineer overnight from the listed ones?
-Hut on Kremžarjev vrh (closed)
-Partizanski dom
-Grmškov dom (closed)
-Ribniška hut
-Hut on Pesek (tourist prices)
-Dom on Osankarica (mountaineer prices)
-Dom on Klopni vrh (mountaineer prices)

Since our PD manages Ribniška hut, it's definitely possible to sleep there. Rooms and dorms were fully renovated last year, plus two apartments by the hut for more people. More detailed information directly at the hut.
