Today, on November 3, 2012, 38 hikers (the most so far) went on an autumn hike along the Šmarška parish path. We gathered at seven a.m. at the main parish church of St. Martin in Šmartno pri Slovenj Gradcu, the start of the path. The Šmarška parish path connects the churches of the parish: St. Martin (Šmartno, 438 m), St. George (Legen, 482 m), St. Barbara (Zg. Legen, 827 m), St. Philip and Jacob (Golavabuka, 654 m), St. Magdalene (Brda, 718 m), St. Andrew (Brda, 562 m), St. Thomas (Tomaška vas, 463 m) and St. Mary (Homec, 474 m). Length: 28.7 km, walking time: 7 h 30 min (on the path for a whole 10 hours, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., without stops about 8 hours or full shift ), elevation gain: 389 m. This time dense fog accompanied most of the path, only briefly the sun greeted us through the fog at St. Barbara, fog accompanied us until St. Magdalene, then it cleared. Otherwise, we chose the right day for the hike, it was quite warm, almost too warm for early November, most importantly nothing rained. Thanks: to all hikers for company, lady and gentleman at St. Magdalene for snack, Lešniks from Golavabuka for lunch, Marijica from Tomaška vas for must and other goodies. Thanks everyone and God bless.
