I've been on it quite a few times already, but never took the time to go ask at the hotel: so does the top of Šmarjetna Hill have a stamp or not?

It has a stamp, which you get at the bar counter.

A year ago the last entry here. Today my son and I went on this nice walk.

We go along the classic path past the castle in Stražišče.

Šmarjetna gora and Jošt are house mountains of Kranj town and Kranj people and closer surroundings too. Up we go anytime in any weather, all seasons. Suitable for all age groups, for families with small kids, for school kids, for elderly, for athletes. To this beautiful peak above Kranj lead several paths described here too. Most paths described from Šroteturn manor which modern owners preserved external look. Manor history is colorful. Modern owners unknown to me.

Today up went three generations. Our first grader goes up here multiple times a year. Up we went by so called Eastern path. Not recommended in winter when icy and after rain as it gets slippery. In summer heat recommended as forest protects from heat. Parking spaces at start plenty on weekdays. On nice weekends already problem. In three quarter hours surely at top. Today lots of visitors - trouble how to serve so many people. Let hotel owners deal with it. View from top wonderful today. Surprising vineyard at top under hotel. Visible plenty yield. Down we went a bit our way. At junction to asphalt road turned right - eastern path goes left here and then on flatter path somehow around to start. This path is some twenty minutes longer than eastern.
