Yesterday with my faithful dog companion we first conquered Šmihelovc, after a careful descent then Zagorelec. We found the gully to Šmihelovc without trouble, up steep grasses and to the right. When we were standing at the notch, the route to the top was also clear.
Gully full of scree and gravel, so everything slid under our feet. Even to the top, caution on steep gravel terrain was at a maximum or even more so on descent, as a slip would hurt badly.
Actually I was somewhat surprised by the terrain difficulty, adrenaline really flowed from me velik nasmeh When we were at the bottom, I breathed a sigh of relief. Ascent to Zagorelec vs. Šmihelovc really a walk nasmeh Cairns more exception than rule.
Weather super, just right cloudy so not (too) hot. That we were the only ones besides ibexes in those parts, probably no need to mention.
We're heading up there.1

This section worried me because of Nessy, but she quickly found a detour right above. 3
Already at pl. Zapotok, above which Bavški Grintavec rises. 4

Part of the marked path towards Kanj has collapsed and a twisted sandy gully formed, which was not easy to cross as everything crumbled and there was nowhere to hold on.30

Why are you snapping, better throw a stone :)40
Got him. Nessy digging master :D41
This one could last until winter.42
After digging you need to wipe yourself off. If you have no towel, sand works too.43
It was a nice day.44

Nice areas.
From the other side to Zagorelec not exactly a walk, but noticeably nicer approach.

Drago, I saw that other approach, it looked quite adrenaline-filled, so I believe you mežikanje These really nice areas, wild and solitary.

After the tour to Lemež I refreshed a bit and refilled water in Soča village, then already the evening before yesterday headed to planina Zapotok where I overnighted. In the morning to saddle Čez lužo and up to Zagorelec and Šmihelovec, then to Bavški Grintavec. The tour is exceptionally beautiful, areas completely deserted and full of life - ibex, chamois, ptarmigans, white grouse, black grouse... all can be met. Approaches to Zagorelec and Šmihelovec orientationally not hard, but Šmihelovec from notch to top has some annoying steep scree. Views to Loške stene ridge, Skutnik and Mangart incredible, majestic Pihavci unfortunately don't stand out (a bit too low). Path to Bavški Grintavec from saddle Kanja officially closed and I won't encourage anyone to go. I didn't descend right to the saddle, but on the path that halfway down turns right to Zadnja Trenta. First people met only at Zapotok, nice to cool in stream under planina - midday temps not autumnal yet.

Today 11. 10. to Šmihelovec and then also to Zagorelec. I browsed the forum a bit before, otherwise access to Šmihelovec is logical - go where easiest. Nice autumn day, can't be better. Peace rules in these parts.nasmeh

Darinka, follow the route drawn by ljubitelj gora 29.8.2019 18:07:23

Or - easier for orientation - directly from the basin up the steep scree.

A little below the notch the routes join, some scree you can't avoid anyway. After the notch to the right and in a few minutes you're up.

If I remember correctly, you tried Šmihelovec directly from Kanje, it's quite more demanding there...
