Snježnik and Guslica

I've long wanted to visit the namesake of our Snežnik, which lives a bit across the border. To make the most of the day we combined the path with cycling and visited neighboring Guslica too. On Guslica there are remains of a JLA relay station and a 4-story bunker.
Snježnik and Guslica We start by bike on the old Roman road, which leads to the Roman gates below Snježnik, from where we have 20 minutes on foot to the summit.1

Once May 25th was Youth Day and once I took my driving test on that day. Today on the anniversary of Youth Day I drove the princess and myself with the driving license, both very youthful, on a great trip nasmeh

We started at Sušak hut and went by road past Platak hut to the turnoff to Guslica path. We continued on footpath to the top and during ascent we came across a bear track, which we soon forgot and it didn't spoil our enjoyment on the rest of the path. We checked out the abandoned military objects on Guslica summit, refueled, looked around as there's something to see from the top, then continued to Snježnik. On a quite scenic path we quickly made it to the summit and even had some company there, which of course we didn't miss before. Views are excellent; towards Snežnik, Risnjak, peaks in Grobnik Alps and Učka behind them and of course the sea. We descended along the ridge to Rimska vrata and from there to the car. Path is without issues, junctions marked and trail marks followable. For about 11 km long path with almost 600m elevation gain we needed 5 hours. Worth the effort mežikanje

Bojan, you describe your adventures nicely. Continue enjoying the pleasant paths and without bear encounters.nasmeh

Majda thanks,
really nice things happen to us. Of course we leave the bears alone and hope they will too, if we accidentally meet somewhere nasmeh

For two days we retirees of PD Škofja Loka wandered around Gorski Kotar. We stayed at Platak, where nearby Rečani have a ski slope. Unfortunately last winter it operated only six days. Also in summer around the hut plenty of recreation. Here is the starting point for Snježnik, Guslica and Risnjak. First day we went to Snježnik and Guslica. Very quickly at Snježnik. Pity they never repaired the hut that burned years ago. Even more devastated than a year ago when we were here. Then we headed to nearby summit Guslica. On this mountain during the time of the joint state there was a large surveillance center with large underground spaces. Also the huge building is decaying - pity. I think some of it is still in use. Paths are nice, well marked. On the way back we had everything - hail, rain, thunder. Mud as much as you want.
Arrived at the hut on Platak.1
