Source of the Sotla

Today I headed towards Macelj, where on its southern slope the Sotla springs. I started the path from home to the Vrhe pass, where the path steeply ascends to the hunting hut, where it levels a bit. Then a bit more steepness, then enjoyment through the beech woods to the spring, where it's also the border with Croatia. The path is well marked and quite trodden. Since the weather was wonderful, I then went to Donačka and to Rudi's home. Especially now in autumn the path is wonderful. Welcome! Lp! Lajči

Today a bit differently to the source of Sotla. From Žetale along the forest educational path, further off-trail to the top of Belinovec to the source, then to the top of Macelj mountain and along the ridge path back down along the marked path to the Vrhe pass. From there up on the southern side to the top of Donačka and along the standard path home. Along the lower path to Medgor and on the southern side to the start. Nice and interesting path, worth checking out. Best greetings!

14.08.2016. Source of Sotla

Start at Vrhe pass and then to Košerjev dom, along the ridge and slightly downhill to the source. Nice thing, it's quite interesting that on Macelj the most visited goal isn't the Belinovec summit but that small springlet. Mountain nice, airy forest and natural peace. Only problem is there's no water at the source at all...

Yesterday Slovenia in rain, along upper Sotla sun and warm weather. From Log pri Rogatcu we went on circular path to source of Sotla. Path along forest roads, in last part join marked path from Donačka gora. Where source marked, drought reigns.
Now, leaves mostly fallen, views to Strahinjščica, Vinagora and in background Sleme ridge.
