This time an excursion to the Western Julians particularly dear to me. With me this time Petra, whom I promised escort to this mountain last year. Morning in Neveja was quite cold, but we quickly warmed up walking to Planina Kraj na dol, morning cloudiness trying to penetrate over Kanin mountains disappeared somewhere and sun pleasantly warmed as we walked to Forca de la Val, below the notch we turned left to the col or nice passage to summit of Špik nad Špranjo, of course using proper gear for winter ascents. From top beautiful view, then Petra skied summit part, I kept her company in the lower part all the way to the valley. Nice and nice again, like everywhere in sunny mountains.

Correcting, on picture 4 is Forca Riomoz, which is a side notch to the left, still quite a bit below Forca de la Val.

Conditions similar to two years ago weather-wise, much less snow, but the ascent was marked by accident in Jalovec. Short description:
I went on the tour with Matjaž, Vinko and Zdenko. Matjaž and I were just ascending Špik nad Špranjo when we got news of the accident in Jalovec. Of course we were too far to go help. Vinko and Zdenko chose Škrbina nad dolino as goal. Conditions today excellent for skiing from top of Špik nad Špranjo, probably similar on Jalovec too, but sadly didn't work out.

Sad accident in Jalovec. Probably touches a person even more when it hits so close.
Otherwise congrats, looks quite on the edge. I probably never will taste that....

The summit was just a wish, of course depending on conditions and conditions allowed ascent, of course not only conditions. But since today it's different, I won't describe them specifically.
