For several years this little peak in the Bavški Grintavec massif hasn't let me rest. And on Saturday the day for exploration arrived. With a colleague we parked in Zadnja Trenta and headed to Planina Zapotok. Due to morning shade the walk was really pleasant and that's probably why I missed the left turn to BG, so I soon ended up at Kanjski preval 2030. My plan was to check the direct entry from the scree to Sravnik and if it looked good I'd probably try it, although all descriptions warned that the channel is a wreck and the climbing next to it is very steep. Maybe it's good I missed the turn, as climbing the secured path was great.
After a short rest at the BG summit I headed to my goal and reached the top in 50 min. Descent mostly along the ridge, quite crumbly and watch out; almost stepped on a stone ledge just waiting to crash into the valley. It already has three holes. Return to BG much easier. One companion already waiting there.

Sravnik 2146 From the viewpoint below Vršič it is not noticeable at all in the massif of Bavški Grintavec. However, it casts a large shadow on the scree below it.

Supercool..I admit I first learned about Sravnik just over a month ago, when I spotted it on the map while viewing from Zagorelec. Congrats..worth going up just for the name jezik

That gully between Sravnik and BG is really a mess, similar to those somewhere in Martuljek. Good you approached from BG summit. You enjoyed the ridge twice!!

Yes, Drago, with a little lump in throat. But finally; summit is summit, no matter how you snuggle up to it, he he.
Did you stick to the gully all the way and maybe measure the vertical. I think less than 100m.
Daaam, I too didn't know about it until I started collecting our two-thousanders. By some criteria it doesn't even count, as less than 50m between saddle and summit.
But still. It's there waiting for us to visit.

In the lower part there actually is no real gully and we kept left of the gully entrance. Then terrain forced crossing right on very crumbly and we got to better rock. But since very steep there, we turned left into crumbly gully and up it to summit. Didn't measure it, I think a bit over 100m.

how would you rate the difficulty of approach between Bavški Grintavec and Sravnik along the ridge? zmeden

Nothing special, max II.
Be careful only where there are holes in the ridge. If it hasn't collapsed already. As far as I remember, it was where the terrain starts rising towards BG.

From Flori over Planina Zapotok to Bavški Grintavec, descent along the ridge from Bavški Grintavec to Sravnik and back to Bavški Grintavec. Return the same way over Planina Zapotok. The ridge to Sravnik is really quite crumbly and the descent requires considerable caution (the mentioned holes in the ridge have become a real window in the ridge), the ascent back along the ridge is much easier.
