Srednica is a side peak near the main Karavanke ridge and close neighbor of Kamnitnik. In dry conditions it's inaccessible due to abundant brushwood, in winter together with Kamnitnik a rewarding goal. Safe access before avalanches goes along the southern side from Javorniški Rovt via planina Stamara, descent the same. For this variant snowshoes are usually enough, for walkers there's usually no sufficiently trodden path.

Continuing across the northern slope of Srednica is steep and accordingly avalanche-prone in unfavorable conditions and not recommended. Crossing it requires ice axe and crampons, but it opens a circular descent variant via Medji Dol or continuation towards planina Seča. That's what we did too, more to follow in the photo story ...
