Luckily, there's not that much snow in the mountains yet, so the trip to Middle Rateška Ponca was still doable.
Start in Tamar. The first sun rays painted Jalovec in beautiful morning colors  ; Tamar stays shaded from the sun almost all day.
A couple of minutes from the hut, the real thing starts  . Straight into the steep incline that doesn't ease up until the summit. At first, the path is covered in cheekily wet leaves, underneath damp roots; the path is sometimes really annoying. Above the tree line, snow begins. First just on some switchbacks, later more and more. Luckily, the markers are placed densely enough and most still poke out of the snow.
At the top, it's already proper winter  . No thinking about High Ponca without winter gear. Anyway, the views from Middle Ponca are already wonderful and similar to those from the slightly higher sister.
At the top, I take quite a bit of time to enjoy the vistas. Back the same way.
