Srednječavenska Trail along the edge with extension to Nanos

On Saturday start at Vitovlje at 5.15, ascent to Sekulak and then nicely along the Srednječavenska to the tunnels. There by road to the sign under Predmeja, a bit down and up through the forest to a short break at the Gorjanka monument. Weather all the time cloudy and windy just right for walking up and down along the open edge to below Kovk, where it was already high time for a snack. The rest of the path to Col was already warming up as the sun shone. From here another 3.5h via Podkraj to Abram, where we four (after 42.5km and 11.15h) sat motionless by the beer, the two most persistent extended to the antenna and Vojkova koča. Altogether it showed them 49.2km, 12.46h and 2352m. The hike was planned in April and named after an unpopular person so I won't publish it and it surely won't become traditional big grin

Almost forgot to thank colleague and her friends at Col, where they refilled our water and made coffee smile

On Sekulak the day dawns - Nanos is still far above the finger.

Along Srednječavski ridge nicely on soft ground.

The edge path is different - view back on Čaven and Kucelj.

Short break on Kovk - the goal is still 4.5h walk behind the cross

and then the finale across the Nanos plateau towards Abram

Not exactly a tour in tune with the title, but let it be here...

Quarry (tunnels), Srednječavenska, Sekulak, Krnica and along the edge to Čaven, Veliki rob, Kucelj and Malo gora and to Koča na Čavnu. Descent to Predmeja and back to start.

Winter gear not needed. Along Srednječavenska still possible in low boots, along edge no.

In these short days good to keep in mind it adds up to almost 25 km and a bit over 1500 hm.

Hut on Mali gora was just closing when I arrived, on Čavnu closed.
