Srednji vrh - Jureževa planina 1487m

To beat the annoying grayness, I head to Srednji vrh above Gozd Martuljek. Larger amounts of snow appear already on Belca, Jesenice are almost snow-free due to the thaw. I planned a big chunk of trail, to Vošcep, to Zajčnik and Pl. Blekove. Due to the new 30 cm southern snow shipment and still penetrable old snow, sinking with snowshoes to the knees. I fell in several times up to the waist and, due to the snow weight, barely got legs with snowshoes out. Around was avalanche-prone, so headed to steep but safest forest ridge left of Srednji Vrh. Steep and hard, even for viharnik. Used hardened parts under spruces (spruce rain). Well, all passes once and appear on ridge 1529 m high. Here snow drier (squeaking), though still southern. On planina soaked from below tree falls and hole pickings, higher Vošco fog-covered. Turn down cart track. Electric cable showed right way. Below at Jurež avalanched to plowed road. Avalanches on 30° slopes too. Snow compacted but soaked to ground. First cold night more stable. On planina snowing at 0°C, below light rain. Still, managed something! Cheers.
