Saint Augustine is a 504 m high hill in Velika Varnica. On top there are two churches and it is also a popular pilgrimage path. The biggest attendance is the last Sunday in August on Augustine Sunday. The fastest access is along the pilgrimage path, cca 20 to 30 minutes. Or you can drive higher by car and park by the road. The path from Cvetlin goes partly through Croatian territory and is less maintained. Walking takes about 40 min, if you are in a column then maybe an hour. And don't forget some document, you are on the Schengen border! nasmeh

To Augustine also leads a newly marked path, a few days ago they put up signposts too. So I went to check it out. cool

Those yellow signs mark the Marian pilgrimage path for us, which goes a few kilometers through our beautiful Haloze. Lp!

Too beautiful Saturday to stay home. Straight from home I cut the path across Repišč, Belavška, Skorišnjak, Mala Varnica, Gradišč, Velika Varnica to the top of Gore. From the top back along the way of the cross. Dry path, bit of combination of mountain path, MRP and road. Beautiful views over Haloze. Greetings! Lajči

Let's go see how the last snow fared under St. Augustine. Started at the church of St. Peter and Paul above Cvetlin and along the border itself to the top. Back along the marked path to the start. Path muddy, full of fallen trees, but some mushrooms can still be found. Nice greetings!

On a gorgeous day I dashed towards St. Augustine straight from home along haloze hills. In valleys cold and icy, up top spring weather. Returned more or less along the same hills towards home. Greetings!

This time a circular path past Goleški gor and back to the valley along the pilgrimage path. Snow 10 to 20 cm but no one anywhere. At the end of the path an enthusiastic dog pack greeted me; there's always something to be found in the backpack.

Some impressions from yesterday's trip Podlehnik - St. Augustine - Trdobojci - Podlehnik.
Where the path does not follow the road, it was mostly not trodden.
