From Kranj on the left side very low under Storžič you can see a little church on one hill. That's St. Lovrenc above Bašelj. We drive to the end of the upper part of the village, where we leave the vehicle. Then we can climb to St. Lovrenc easily via three paths. The most common is the so-called marked Gamsova path, which takes us directly to the church. Here benches are placed all over the hillock for pleasant rest and wonderful view into the valley. Back we can descend via the right part of the hillock to the pleasant mountain hut. To the church from the starting point we have only about twenty minutes. Very suitable for families with small children and slightly older hikers.

Today two patients up straight to the church with "kroslo" zmeden. Around the church lots of families with small kids. 50 dirty looks, that's sadly all a normal mortal can do. I think further comment not needed.
But anyway good luck guys, wherever you're driving, hope sense finds you soon velik nasmeh.

From foggy smog to sunny embrace for short but scenic family hike. On the path we met a nice family who instead of a puppy led (drove) a remote control car with them. Apparently they drive it on the cart track right to the hut under the summit. Interesting modern way to motivate kids for walking in the hills.nasmeh

Yesterday we wandered around Lovrenc, looking for the source of the stream where Srečko's mill wheels are placed, but we went too high up and reached the marked path that from Lovrenc leads towards the cross path Kališče - pl. Javornik, and if from the cross path you continue straight up, you reach Storžič via the SW ridge. If nothing else, at least we stretched our legs a bit nasmeh

On the saddle below Lovrenc, where the mountain signs are, a couple of meters from the bench ahead is the sign for the path under Storžič (green sign on a post), there you should go left into the bushes. From Povelj past the mill wheels is to me the nicest path to Lovrenc.
The mill wheels are not at Milka's spring, they are lower down, but you can go up the gully a bit higher.

@Loni, I know those parts very well, so I actually "got lost" on purpose or rather I was looking for the source of that stream where the little mills are. On purpose, not that I wouldn't know the path mežikanje Anyway, thanks for the tips nasmeh
