As part of the A guide course training, we went to Stador-2025 m. The start is in Bavšica at the signs for Bavški Grintavec. Start at 698 m. Soon we encounter the first water. The path to the Bala pasture is exactly described at the pasture. We go past the Logje hamlet, where water is also available. In one hour from the start, we are at the abandoned Bala pasture at 1181 m. Then we reach the Bala hunting hut, where we have water again - a more modest spring, but still. Here we are already at 1290 m. This whole area under the path is called Bala. Behind the hunting hut, the area is named Jezerce. Further, we reach the pass called Prevala at 1560 m. Before the Prevala pass, the Bala area ends and we enter the Lanževice area. Here the pathless terrain to Stador begins. We turn left and seek the easiest passages through steep grasses and across extensive rocks. In the Lašta area, we find in a small snow valley even a brook that makes a small meander. Ahead on the left, we already spot the prominent Stador peak. To it, we overcome a not too extensive snowfield and we are already at the saddle. To the left, our peak rises steeply. Summit access is climbing grade 1 and 2. For safety, we make a 200 m rope belay and after 15 minutes yell on top. On top, even crowberries bloom. We descend a bit on different pathless terrain and are back at the hunting hut. The path from the hunting hut up or down is extremely demanding orientationally. If not skilled in pathless terrain and compass and GPS, do not attempt it or you will get lost easily. Always do such pathless in good weather, monitor the forecast and watch changes. The beauties of solitary and mysterious Bavšica will always attract adventurers and travelers seeking peace and beautiful nature.
