Monte Staulizze (Štalice) is a hill at the beginning/end of the ridge of the western foothills of Kanin, which runs above the valleys of Bela and Resia. We reach it after about one third of path No. 631, which leads from Na Bili (Resiutta) to rezijanska Ravanca (Prato di Resia). The path starts in the small settlement of Na Bili, located at the confluence of the Resia river into Bela. Initially it leads between houses, then along a paved mule track to a small church on a rise above the place, from where there is a nice view of Počimunih (Monte Pisimoni), which dominates this part of the Bela valley. From the church the trail climbs through the forest and under the ridge continues ascending eastwards, where it reaches (partly concreted) road, which leads all the way to the top of Štalice. Shortly after the start of the road one can also climb the unmarked ridge trail, which higher rejoins the road. The old marked path, which led along the southern part of Štalice towards planina Rušče (Ruschis) - and bypassed the summit - is impassable due to extensive windthrow, and the markings have consequently been "removed" from it. From the summit, where some transmitters are located, there is a nice view north to the aforementioned Pisimoni; clearly visible are Monte Sernio, Creta Grauzaria, Zuc dal Bor, Cozzarel, Montusel, further east Western Julians with Strma peč and Poliski Špiki. From the aforementioned pasture, located more than 100 vertical meters lower along the path (road) further towards Resia, there is a nice view of the Kanin range and Muzce (which are occasionally nicely visible along the path too). On the return the same way, Amarina nicely outlines from the road. Relatively short but nice excursion above the beginning of Resia. Tulipan, thanks for supplementing the Slovenian names .
