When you're driving on the road towards Železniki, a prominent peak rising above the valley catches your eye, with the much more famous Ratitovec looming in the background. Of course, I didn't know the name of this hill for a long time. Yesterday it wasn't really planned, but with the possibility of maybe climbing it if I find a path. Štedel Peak is surrounded by marked trails, but there's none to the very summit, I think it's known to runners and radio hams, as I only read one article about this peak from them. Nothing else.

Well, the plan was actually to visit Draboslovce, where I used to go long ago and really liked it. So Štedel Peak via Draboslovce, that's how my path went yesterday, starting in Železniki behind the church.
The path to the cross was good but very steep, apparently cyclists descend it too, at least that's what I saw online. In Draboslovca village a few words with a local woman, otherwise no one on the whole path. When I stepped through the meadows, where a small path is drawn on the map, to the road, I first walked to the remains of the former weekend cottage, then a bit further on the cart track and then right, steeply to the ridge path up the hill. There are sort of two summits, I took the one marked with red X as the real one. A few pics and continued down the narrow, very steep ridge. Once the path a bit disappears, but continuation is found. I was quite happy seeing the high-voltage line below me and the view opening to Prtovč. I went there too, where no parking fee was needed nasmeh
