Štefanja gora

I couldn't find any record of this popular excursion, hiking, scrambling, running, cycling spot that starts from the village of Adergas, which is also known as the Bočja path with a beautiful church and monastery that no longer exists. It was supposedly abandoned before World War II. It was a women's order. Under the church are catacombs of former monastery inhabitants. In front of the church there's a beautiful park with benches and a fountain and a panel showing the nearby area. Here we park the car and head from the left side of the church along the asphalt towards Štefanja Hill. Before the forest, we turn right onto a nice, very well-trodden forest path. We can't miss it here, because there are houses on the left below the road. But there's no directional sign or marker here - they would be very much needed and I appeal to the path maintainers to install them. In the forest there are signposts or markers, so we can't get lost. Somewhere in the middle of the forest we encounter a modern plague memorial. On a nearby tree there's even a wish bell. Then the signs direct us to Na Šterne or Na Klopce. We go to Na Šterne whatever that means and reach some kind of kal in the Gorenjska style - I don't know. Then we're already approaching the top of Štefanja Hill, where there's a nice little church, which can also be our final destination. Alternatively, we can descend from the church down the slope to the right to the pleasant serviced hunters' hut, where it's always lively.

Highly recommend for families with small children. Today I met a lot of them and for slightly older hikers who can't manage farther but want to take a walk.

Štefanja gora And also the wish bell nearby. The wish certainly fulfilled.9
Štefanja gora Here we also decide in which direction we will turn. All paths certainly lead to Štefano gora.10
Štefanja gora We turn to Šterne and come to this, I'd say, Gorenjska puddle.11
Štefanja gora Soon we leave the forest and views already open up.12
Štefanja gora We head right to the summit of Štefana gora, where a neat little church stands.13
Štefanja gora From the church we descend right along the slope to a small hunting hut and the pleasant morning walk is over. No need to have driven here by car.14

After three years we went again with the kids on this pleasant outing and on the new path called Path of Connection under the Canopies. But I can say we got a bit lost and didn't even reach the top of Štefanja Hill. The path has good markings, but they can very quickly mislead you to go right instead of left or vice versa like we did. Still, the kids enjoyed it and breathed fresh air.
Start in Adergas at the church.1
On the right side of the parking lot there are panels that inform us about the history of Adergas and a panel with marked paths to Štefanja gora.2

If this is the patron saint of Štefanja gora - St. Stefan, I don't know.13

Velkavrh, I wouldn't want to be petty and pedantic, but isn't it Štefanja gora.

Kranj, that's a Solomonic solution in the style: wolf fed, goat whole. Bravo. Regards
