Hello! A friend from the USA is coming to Slovenia in June and would like to find a climbing partner. Below is his message. Thanks for the response and best regards, Marjana
I am Steve Arnold. I have heard that Slovenian climbers are quite good, some of the best in the world. I am not such a good rock climber as that.
I have led 5.6 and some 5.7 (Yosemite rating system). That is about the same as UIAA IV+, V-, or maybe V. I have followed (been the second person on the rope) 5.8 and a little 5.9. (UIAA V+).
I mostly climb in California - Lake Tahoe area, Yosemite valley, Tuolumne Meadows, and a little bit in Joshua Tree. I mostly climb routes that are 200 meters or so, but I have climbed 700 meters several times.
I will be in the area from about 10 June to 22 June, but I have other things to do besides climbing. I will be in the area from about 9 June to 23 June.
I do not know what the weather is like and the rocks during that time (snow or ice?), so any info you have on that would be appreciated.
