Yes, it's true you don't need to go high or far to enjoy the views and peace mežikanje

...started at Mangart Pasture up to saddle Čez Stožje, continued towards Vraška Škrbina, but halfway I turned left onto unmarked path to saddle above Sinji dol(I think?! zadrega

). There I climbed right first to Grintavec, path goes through steep grass, through passable bushes, and a bit on crumbly rock, but quite visible, so no trouble to the top. Descent by the same path to saddle and then ascent to Vršič, where path mostly through steep grass, but can also go on crumbly rock if you want velik nasmeh

. Here I took a loooong break nasmeh

...since the valley on the other side of saddle Čez Stožje tempted me, I descended to that side...there is a path, then it disappears again and I spotted it before the forest, it leads to scree a bit before Mangart Pasture...nice loop, only start marked, then nothing...easy path, but caution needed on ascents to both peaks due to steep grass.
I met no one on the trip, enjoyed the peace and fairy-tale views nasmeh

and sunny-hot weather...

Last week there was nice weather in the heights and I repeated the tour as described by Rozka but instead of Vršič for the second part chose Malo Rušo, which is also nearby. That end is really more solitary as I met no one. Views truly unique to known and somewhat less known mountains. Last part quite steep, poles useful. It was nice.

23.8. nice morning circular tour from Mangart Pasture and back.
From pasture over Stožje scree through forest to Sinji dol and to top of Veliki Grintovec. From Montaž direction thunder heard and storm visible. Few pics and quick return past walls of Vršič along left edge of Stožje scree to start.

This time I went to Vršič and Grintavec from Remšendol. On path no. 511 on 9 Aug I started at the parking lot before Koprivnik village, first on the road, then straight over the scree in the middle of the valley. In the valley head at Vraški stream branches (currently marked as closed) the path to Rateška škrbina, I go right through the forest. After 20 min I reach a wide, hard-to-cross gully under Malo Rušo, the trail continues on the other side. There it ascends through increasingly high-alpine forest, through a small chimney and crosses a short but steep scree slope. I didn't go to the pass Čez Stože, but from the cirque under Stože and Vraški saddle straight to Škrbinica between Vršič and Grintavec. If in the shadows of Remšendol mountains and forest I could still avoid the sun, it accompanied me for the next few hours. First I climbed one of the peaks of Vršič and later the forepeak of Veliki Grintavec.
After return to the marked path I went past Šobra and descended to Kolja jama pasture with hut under Rabeljski špici (water), from there through shady forest back to the road and start. Path from Šobra to Kolja jama rich with larches and I warmly recommend it on sunny days end of October when the forest really glows…
