Strelovec from Robanov kot

Today first ascent to Strelovec from Robanov kot in a duo with Goran Jekleni. From Knez farm upwards we a bit "explored" and after a good hour realized we needed to return to the farm, where we continued on the marked path. We met no one all the way to the top of Strelovec, also nothing was trodden, so first approachers in these conditions. As seen from the pics, no views, real winter tour with fog, snowing, cold and two very satisfied mountaineers. I recommend.

I have this trip planned around Christmas, but I would continue it to Klemenča cave and descend to Logar Valley. I'm wondering how well it's marked, because obviously you can't count on a trail in 10 days.

Don't count on markings. I advise against this circular path in these conditions. From Knez to Strelovec already - but not further!! It's the north side and avalanches from the Krofička ridge completely cover the path in some parts. Weather, you see what it's like and the snow there won't melt until late spring. Probably someone else will chime in who might know the current conditions better! LP

Joža, I advise you to descend from the top of Strelovec to Icmankova planina and then continue westwards, next is Plesnikova planina, down you can reach the Plesnik hotel or their farm, so in Logarska. This is much safer. But I recommend going straight from Icmankova planina to Logarska peč (five minutes from Icmankova), where there's an excellent viewpoint over the entire Logarska. Lp.

The trip in summer conditions is one of the nicer ones, but for winter I think it's better to take more sun-exposed and less steep paths. The path mostly traverses steep slopes under Strelovec, past many gullies and torrents. Nice regards, and carpe diem.

The path is not unknown to me as I had to abandon it on 1.1.2009 a bit further from the larch (above Klemenča cave) because of a snow avalanche from Krofička. At that time I went from Logarska through Klemenča cave and planned via Strelovec to Robanov kot, but I think there's less snow now than then, or am I wrong?

That snow avalanche is the first and after that in our young years (a bit of bragging) we climbed to the Krofička ridge for May 1st. Then it really starts from the path fork (marked) to Krofička. I really don't know the current snow conditions at this time. I join "MarkoK"'s advice. With my son we once experienced real agony on this path (Klemenča - Strelovec) in springtime. I'm also attaching a picture of this path from 2008.

On 28.12. I did the tour Log. valley (Lenar) - Plesnikova pl. - Icmanikova pl. - Strelovec, some on the marked path, some from memory as I got a bit lost in between. Nevertheless, I reached the summit in 3 hours; snow on the Logarska side little, towards Robanov kot, where I descended, more places up to 30 cm.

Today for the first time on Strelovec from Robanov kot. This also has its charm , as you park the car too low, so you walk on the road, search for markings, then a four-legged local shows you the path to the top, haha. But due to snow melting it's a bit unpleasant walking on the slope below Strelovec, and grass below, you struggle because it's very slippery and at the same time you hope that the snow will hold... Weather sunny, views super.

Nice and wonderful pics. I'd like to go to Strelovec from Logarska dolina, but is Koča na Klemenči jami open on weekends?

Antik, don't go for at least a month yet. This is the NW side and all is still deep under snow. And the avalanches that come from the Krofička ridge are still waiting!! Regards

Yes, really, that side is in the shade, still looooots of snow, on this side from Robanov kot it's slippery as ..... and you walk either on grass or on snow - careful!

Thanks. Only on a few short sections, where practically nothing hinders access and just a little wets and cools the shoes. Otherwise it would be almost too hot.

You really should go, I recommend one of the nicer paths in this part... and that the telohs also bloom, which there are tons of, is simply perfect

Telohs are already plentiful now, so just the path underfoot.

On Thursday by bike to Knez and then further towards Icmankova planina to cca 1300 m, where there is a bigger clearing and where the forest path splits, at the junction there is also a sign: right Icmankova planina, left no marks. By bike I went left as far as possible, then found poor trail but proof that lots of people walk here too. Mainly traversing the slope until a bit below Knezova planina this path joins marked path from Knez farm. To here almost no snow, further I avoided snow in spruce forest and sought passages - in gojzarji it wouldn't be a problem. Descent back to valley took 25 mins, super! Crampons on macadam/snow/ice/mud came handy... best, Anze
