Suhi dol

Dry Valley is a valley that descends from Kokrsko sedlo towards Kokra. From here we get to Cojzova hut via two paths - over Taško and the old path. We can also go straight from Suhi dol to Dolce, where there's a renovated bivouac under Kočna on the left and from there to Kočne or Grintavec or via Ovnov cer to the hut. Behind the parking lot a road leads to the ancient high-alpine farm which today we call pri Suhadolniku. Once it was called differently. Then we can walk along the nice road to the head of Suhi dol - a little more than half an hour. Or we can soon turn onto the marked path through the forest. This is a pleasant stroll through pristine nature.
Suhi dol Already in the valley this beautiful smile of the sky.1
Suhi dol As soon as we leave the parking lot, nice views of the peaks.2

Suhi dol In front of the farm autochthonous Slovenian breed of cattle is grazing.4
Suhi dol The calf did not let itself be excessively disturbed.5
Suhi dol Over the footbridge one goes right ahead along the road, to the left however is the highland farm which today we call pri Suhadolniku, formerly pri Zdovnk.6
Suhi dol This is their old house, which would be very interesting to see from inside.7
Suhi dol They of course have a newer house, which is just as interesting.8
Suhi dol Around are plenty of other farm buildings.9

Suhi dol Some objects time has already overtaken.11
Suhi dol Then along the beautiful road ahead.12
Suhi dol Before the footbridge we can go along the marked path through the forest.13
Suhi dol By road or by forest we will arrive at the end of our walk to the head of Suhi dol.14
Suhi dol Already on the previous one the turn-off to Dolce is visible, on the right we reach signs directing to both paths to Cojzova koča.15

Velkavrh I hope there are borders. I hope we won't go walking and taking pictures in foreign yards now. I think it's best to stick to hiking trails. But I know that at Zdovnk the doors were open for hikers or they were. I'm writing generally not about this case. As for the presentation of Suhega dola, it's not nice. Best regards, no hard feelings.

Suhadolnik, about this farm we heard a really interesting story last weekend, which is unfortunately true. We have never started from this starting point yet.

This is the usual start from Kokra to Cojzova hut and further to Grintavec. Yes, it's more used from the Upper Carniola side. Ljubljaners and Kamnikers and others mostly go from Kamniška Bistrica. I like this approach better. I've also gone from the Kamnik side.

I myself have used this starting point several times. When going for the first time, you have to be quite careful about the right turn-off from the main road towards Suhadolnik.

You're right GregorC, I too have driven back because I drove past on the asphalt. From the parking lot in front of the Suhadolnik farm, everything is marked with new signs, both accesses to Zoisova hut are marked, and on the Suhadolnik pasture itself we can't get lost, because the path goes straight - to the right, the left goes to Grdi graben to Spodnje Dolce and further to the bivouac under Kočna and further to both Kočne. But we also have two paths from Spodnjih Dolcev, which I already mentioned. Highly recommend - it's nice!

Velkavrh, you're not quite right, many Upper Carniolans start here too, if I remember the license plates, capitals dominated, not to mention coastal ones. Much more appealing route to Kokrsko sedlo for me than from Kamniška Bistrica.

I started from Suhi dol twice last year: once to Kočna and second to Grintovec. Nice path, to Cojzova hut or to Dolcev you're in the shade. LPnasmeh
