I'm wondering which hiking socks for hiking boots to buy. They need to be thicker and reinforced on the heels (they rub me easily). I already checked them at Iglu Sport, but they seem expensive to me, 20 € per pair. Where do you buy them? Which ones are quality?

Hi! I'm also interested which ones you recommend, since I have big problems with socks, mainly discomfort, blisters etc. Thanks.

Classic method to prevent blisters is using two pairs of socks. Nowadays many look down on it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Some completely ordinary ones, woolen ones on top. In summer and winter. They serve me excellently.

Two pairs of socks definitely work, sure not for occasional mountain visitors, but for regulars

The best solution is ordinary women's nylons under socks (short ones of course).

I had issues with Bridgedale (blisters), blamed shoes, switched to Lorpen no more issues. So yeah, spend those 20 € and let yourself be surprised...

Igor, so when I start regularly hiking in the mountains, I'll need to buy another pair of socks. Oops, another expense!

I use the Xsocks brand, http://www.x-socks.com/x-socks/outdoor/hiking/trekking-silver/135395/detail (also without the silver add-on, which are a bit less reinforced, for summer) and they suit me. Quality has its price, the purchase decision is yours, but I'd say better two good pairs than 10 "little money, little music". I also think that the shoe could be the cause of blisters (my lay opinion).
