Today the whole group set out from the center of Žiri to conquer Vrh Sv. Treh Kraljev. The path takes us about two hours of walking. It goes on asphalt, on macadam and on marked forest paths. We go through the village Goropeke, past the Closed Home on Goropeke. Currently closed - looking for tenant. Then also past the mountain hut Na Vrhu Sv. Treh Kraljev. This hut operates already on Friday from 5 pm and all weekend - at least that's what it says. From the hut only five minutes to the nice little church on Vrh Sv. Treh Kraljev with the same name. This is a parish church with a large parsonage and cemetery. The original Gothic church was built in the 18th century. Equipped with black altars brought here from the monastery in Bistra. Renovated at the end of the 20th century. We also viewed the cave - better said tunnel - at Sv. Treh Kraljih. Didn't go to the end of the tunnel. It's right behind the hut on the right side. For viewing need a flashlight. Currently full of bats. This is actually a dug tunnel under the summit, built during the construction of the Rupnik line. They stumbled upon a cave with stalactite formations - long 1 km and 70m deep with a network of smaller tunnels. Probably only cavers can view it. Some ropes on the rocks are visible. Back to Žiri we partly returned on another path.
