Telescopic poles won't lock

Probably every hiker or mountaineer has encountered this problem. I can't lock the lower tube on the poles anymore, so it moves freely. I disassembled it, lubricated it and nothing improved. Obviously material wear. Then I realized that the plastic bit that should expand when twisting is skipping on the thread. Help

Exactly, lubricating harms. If mechanical failure, you'll have to improvise a bit or get new ones. Lp

lp Most often the problem is precisely in lubricating. Some plastics are sensitive to various lubricating sprays. They often soften a bit and the nut that moves the cone twists and that's the end. Suggest calling Tehnomat in Kranj and replacing the complete part (insert and variable cone) If you bring them they fix it right away for a very reasonable price tel 04 235 18 10 or 031 495 499 lp sr

No, I only lubricated the thread. Thanks to both for the advice.
