Tisnik and the caves in it

Caves in Tisnik!
I take advantage of a pleasant sunny day and set off on demanding pathless terrain.
I admire the beauties of Carinthian karst and follow cave locations on a handy homemade map made with the help of Geopedia.
I park at the chapel (get there by turning left uphill from the Caving Hut) and then another 2 km on the road.
From the starting point I slightly ascend the middle path (the left path takes me back).
Just a moment of enjoyment ahead across the pleasant meadow to the shack and hunting stand, then steeply into the ridge! Climbing, searching for comfortable passages, sliding… All that belongs to such hikes and I like it a lot.
I observe, listen. Many animals live here and I walk quietly, carefully not to scare them.
The ridge path is varied (on the S side sheer walls swallow the depths, on the E side the steepness eases somewhat). I don't recommend walking the ridge during snow, nor in the summer months (lots of adders-vipers on sunny sides).
I follow the ridge, which soon breaks, and a descent into the hollow awaits me, then up the other ridge.
The path on the second ridge is very varied. I search for the right path but due to many animal trails don't find it. I walk according to my own judgment. A little before the highest part of Tisnik I spot a fire pit on the ridge top! I think: "Isn't that left by cavers?"
Indeed 20 m lower is the highest-lying cave in Tisnik (Klet Cave). The path to it may be quite a burden for many. I inspect the entrance, crawling into it is nonsense…
The path leads further along the ridge to the W side. Through sheer rocks 2 chamois appear like lightning, a little further a mouflon.
The path along the ridge brings us to the gravel road, which we follow into the Ponikve valley. Here await a couple of hard-to-access caves and Lisiči rov (guided trip over Tisnik to Huda luknja with JD from Velenja). Terrain at sinkholes frozen and dry (in wet months boots are needed).
I marvel at Mother Nature and slowly return to the starting point.
Pleasant trip, which is best in winter and dry conditions.
My solo endeavor took me 6 hours of very varied walking, though I didn't find Bolnica Cave!
Bolnica Cave served during WWII as shelter for wounded partisans. Although the location was betrayed the occupier didn't find it…. …nor did I occupy it successfully. Next time.
But I visited all the following caves with the help of Geopedia coordinates!
