To the mountains in the rain!

I'm interested in which peaks you recommend for a one-day hike in the mountains when it's raining - like these days. Thanks.

Depends on how much you're willing to get soaked. Up to 1000m no problem.

Rain is no problem. But I hate mud.

Sagarmatha, it's definitely better in such weather to go as high as possible into the high mountains above the tree line or to some wider accessible mountain paths where there's no scrub and grass.

If you want to get really wet, go home to the bathroom. Hiking in the hills in such weather as now is boundless folly. Recommended peaks are "Joškov vrh and Češpljev vrh". If you have no transport to the mentioned peaks, help yourself, as you'll never be disappointed with yourself. No offense, as to such a question only such an answer follows.

Eh, Julius. Primož above Kamnik and on to Velika Planina. I didn't go today because I'm afraid of flooded roads; otherwise this path is super in the rain because it's wide enough to even go with an umbrella.

Caution in such weather isn't superfluous. If you want to hike in the rain - Slivnica is no problem. You'll overcome 500m elevation gain, which is perfectly OK given the weather.

Flora1! I really want to know what experience mountains are in fog and rain, not speaking of some poisonous wind. After more than fifty years of mileage in mountains, I assure you that in such weather as today, I really find nothing that would stimulate me to set off from home. Believe me, mountains are so beautiful that you shouldn't spoil impressions of their beauty in such weather, regardless of the fact that I've experienced them in all possible conditions. In bad conditions only when I was forced to.

@Micky to Slivnica??? Do you know what mud there is? Really don't know what's pleasant in mud ("except rock otočec")!!! Rain has caught me in mountains many times and there was really no trace of any pleasantness. Mud, puddles and slips. I recommend rather a good book, home fireplace, and some click on Hribi.net

Well last August I spent vacation with family at Jezersko, and there came a day when it poured from dawn to dusk. In the morning I still held out, afternoon I set off in the rain from Ancelja to Jenkova planina for the first time starting a tour in the rain. Had to use the day since I was already there, otherwise without need I don't go from home in such weather. The tour itself: wet, muddy, no views, slippery....

In that rain it's best to take a shovel instead of hiking poles, put on high boots and volunteer at the nearest fire station and help people affected by the flood. You have plenty of everything, mud, water, rain, and despite the cold it will be properly hot. No hard feelings.

Thank you all very much for your suggestions and comments. As primoza said - it's a matter of taste. Hiking in the rain is a special experience that few people know. Viharnik gave me an idea and I was on the way to Mojstrana, but due to traffic I turned towards Pokljuka. Viševnik and surrounding peaks were today just for me. Fortunately/or not/ it also stopped raining. I did a nice tour around Viševnik, Serenjski pass, Studorski pass, Jezerca and back to the barracks

Weather improved yesterday a bit earlier than forecast, so it was worth using the nice day and so there was no hiking in the rain.

I think I wrote it was yesterday, let me add: Sunday 19.09.2010. Is something wrong!? Here in the west it comes earlier and goes earlier, that's how it is.

At that time I go to Kremžarjev vrh. On foot from home 2h one way. Also around Pohorje is not problematic for me. But I don't like thunderstorms. And I don't like walking on wet rocks, no.
