To the Savica Waterfall in flip-flops

This year, after 9 days wandering in the mountains above Bohinj, we were returning to Savica. The idea was to also see the waterfall before heading to the car, but in the end we decided to sit in front of the hut nasmeh. Well, when we were filling up with cold water at the entrance to the Savica waterfall, we saw that quite a few were going up in flip-flops (mother, father, and daughter) or in clogs.
Since I don't know the real condition of this path, I'm wondering why no one dissuades these people if not for basic safety.

To be totally honest, you can go to the Savica waterfall even in flip-flops...(in favor of the ignorant who would go in flip-flops even if it were dangerous) I think that as regards footwear problems the bigger issue is the Soča spring..

Well, Katja, if you were already so close, you'd just wait another 15-20 minutes and check what the path is like, and see the waterfall live too. Then probably you wouldn't write this comment.

Two years ago I went to the Savica waterfall and the hut at the Soča spring in gladiator sandals - no problem. It's true they have a zipper at the back so feet don't slide around, better sole too and it doesn't slip. Still open summer shoes. nasmeh
I think to the Savica waterfall it's not too dangerous even in flip-flops, mostly you walk on stairs (to the Soča spring not recommended because of slippery rocks too).

On return to Savica via Komarča, in the lower part a bit below the junction to the waterfall source from the path, I saw a whole family in flip-flops marching up. I told them in English they had no proper footwear, they just stared blankly and something in Italian back. I gestured again no proper shoes but they went on. Hey, I warned them, if they want it that way... Not a babysitter, but ignorant shouldn't wonder when GRS warns of such problem. Problem in people's awareness. Even if path easy, footwear must be suitable. Not speaking of helmets on Komarča path at noon. Then essential, not recommended. People up there so many like giving gold coins at top. But no signs below in different languages warning of proper gear.
So agree with Katja66 it's big problem. Bohinj locals should look that way too, not just cash in every step.

p.s. no hard feelings if some Bohinj guy reads this.

Yes, the other day someone warned me too that I'm not going the right way and that I'll get tangled up. But he had no idea where I was headed!

Looking at the waterfall is one thing, going to the source of the Savica is quite another tune, so no one mixes them up.
