Trail through Zala

How close, yet so far might say writer Ivan Tavčar. Based on Tavčar's story In Zala this thematic trail was created. It has six points. Marked with panels that tell us the story In Zala in which a bear attacks the canon, hence also Bear's trail. We started at point no. 6 in Žirovski vrh above Bukovec farm. It goes towards Golega vrh. Then we descend into the gorge to Šubic farm. There was Budlov mill. The mill is no longer there. It was carried away by flood many years ago. We see the fifth point of the trail. Then we go along Medvedkova trail. We spot a large heart. At the heart we position behind the fire station. Then the forest starts and we come to the three-meter bear with cub. Further we come to a beautiful clearing with hut and playground for children. On this clearing in the story In Zala they shot a wild rooster and we really spot it on the tree. We find panel no. 2. Further in the forest there is a marker indicating the top of Zala. Finally we also reach panel no. 1. We continued through the village Žirovski vrh Sv. Urbana to the hunting trail to Zavrč. In Žiri we descended past trim steze Laz. The trail was about 20km long. We walked more than five hours.
