Trbiška col (Forcella di Riofreddo)

In search of north-facing corners we traveled to our neighbors hoping that somewhere there still hides some piece of snow that inversion and sun didn't get. And we got it too much. First surprise was already in Mrzla voda, as 800 m.a.s.l. approx. 20 cm snow, so the tour extended by almost two hours. We started literally from asphalt and first 5 km slogged on snow-covered cart track in Mrzla voda valley. Already with first step from road we were knee-deep in powder, which held to the summit slope, which is more exposed to wind and was quickly hard. Luckily the transition from hard snow to powder is very short, breakable crust is little or at least on our track there wasn't. Upper part is hard, passable with crampons. Initially we planned to ascend to the top, but due to late hour we turned back instead, nice view from the col we'll come see another time.
