Triglav under the full moon in July 2010

Hi. I've had this plan for a while to go to Triglav under full moon because I was already up at Kredarica at night and it was phenomenal. Now wondering if anyone is up for it or interested in something like that. Which path and which day are all up for agreement. Lp

We've done that long ago, you can choose the path of course, just watch out not to go from Vrata, because then you'll be in shade all the time, even from Kredarica up to M. Triglav it'll be shade, and you can't choose the day because full Moon is on an exact day and hour.

Hi!
With my dad who promised me this since childhood, we headed to Triglav at full moon in July 2009 and it was really an incredible experience. We set off from Rudno polje, past Vodnikov dom and then continued towards Kredarica, then turned to Planika where dad stopped, I continued to the summit where I awaited sunrise. Truly unforgettable! Then on via Kredarica! I promised a colleague that this summer at full moon I'll take her on this adventure, so scram, maybe we arrange and go to Triglav together or at least meet on the path! Lp!

That means you hiked mostly at night. But you see the marks and the path where to go. It's interesting to hear about full moon. And that means you didn't sleep anywhere? lp

Yes, from Koper we started Friday at 19h and at 21h began hiking from Rudno polje. We knew the path anyway, so markers weren't needed, plus they were very visible because full moon lit everything - like stadium floodlights. We had headlamps of course but didn't need them. Slept in shifts during drive home late Saturday evening (me especially, who did an extra loop to Rž and Rjavina before car return) alternating driving, and some short "sleep" stops at highway rests  Nice day!

Basically no need to stick to exact date, with clear weather and eyes adjusted half moon is enough (tested). If cloudy even two full ones too little.
So some leeway, but consider departure time cuz rising/setting ~1h later each day. Today after midnight, tomorrow after 1 etc, but already less than full and shrinking. From 18.7. "usable"

Hi finally home again  Glad so many interested... As for pace, we'll adjust and someone will help carry gear. Mateja, it'd be nice to have company so hope you join. As for date better adjust to weather than moon. Just big enough to light path well... Lp hope to hear. Ps all invited.

Totally agree with "scram" to adjust to weather and moon, not date. Go Friday (23.7.) evening if weather ok?

Friday 100% no go cuz rain forecast and moderate to strong bura at sea not promising for mountains. Says Friday day weather holds. Can postpone to next week after rain (if rains) cuz then visibility incredible...

Full moon is actually on Monday , but clear weather is forecasted only towards the end of the second week, but until then everything can still change!
