Triglavska Bistrica Trail

I hiked the path from Mojstrana to the end of Vrata Valley many times as an elementary and high school student. Back then, I didn't notice anything "beautiful" on it - it was just a "necessary evil" that we "non-motorized" had to walk to the starting point for Triglav, Stenar and other two-thousanders rising above the valley. Yesterday, however, with my family in these "dog-hot" days, we found pleasant cool shade on the Triglavska Bistrica Trail and an opportunity for a wonderful, leisurely "stroll". The trail is enlivened by numerous natural sights of the valley, which are commendably marked and explained with information boards. We started with viewing the lower and upper Peričnik waterfall and a pleasant "refreshment" behind them, and continued along the bed of Triglavska Bistrica and later high above it all the way to Aljažev dom. Although we "mentally" prepared for weekend crowds, it wasn't big already at Peričnik, on the Triglavska Bistrica valley trail you could count those who went on foot on the fingers of one hand. If you go to visit the trail with curious kids and "explorers", the walking time from Peričnik to Aljažev dom can stretch from the "normed" two hours to three or even more. We recommend it to everyone who avoids strenuous ascents in hot summer days, but still wants to "move a bit", enjoy peace and experience the "taste" of high mountains, even from the valley .
